This formula mimics one-half of the acid mantle: sweat, the secretion of the sudoriferous gland. Perspiration is responsible for thermoregulation and barrier function.
Herb & Mineral is made with macerated soaked herbs and contains amino acids, fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, humectants, and other beneficial phytochemical compounds.
They combine to hydrate, replenish, repair, maintain healthy barrier function, and help DMK oils and creams permeate the skin.

How to use DMK Herb & Mineral Mist
- Dab oil or cream onto the skin, then spray four to five pumps of Herb & Mineral to thoroughly saturate the area.
- Massage to combine and then press or pat into the skin until combined and absorbed.
- For an extra refreshing hydration boost, Herb & Mineral Mist can be applied as many times as desired throughout the day, including over makeup.
Key Ingredients
Macrocystis Pyrifera Extract (Kelp) — This brown seaweed reduces glycation and wrinkles. It increases skin firmness and suppleness by stimulating hyaluronic acid (HA) synthesis; HA and the hygroscopic aspects of seaweed boost the skin’s capacity for hydration. Kelp is densely nutritious with high levels of antioxidant vitamins, phenolic compounds, amino acids, iodine, and trace minerals.
Medicago Sativa Extract (Alfalfa) — A beneficial herb that contains vitamins, minerals, chlorophyll, amino acids, saponins, and flavonoids. Alfalfa is antimicrobial, antioxidant, free radical scavenging, anti-inflammatory, astringent, and humectant. It also mimics gentle retinoic activity in the skin to reduce the appearance of aging.
Smilax Aristolochiaefolia Root Extract (Sarsaparilla) —Sarsaparilla is a plant that contains natural steroid compounds that reduce itching, redness, blotchiness, irritation, and inflammation. The root protects fibroblasts from UV-induced damage. It is also a potent antifungal and antibacterial and contains antioxidant saponins.
Cimicifuga Racemosa Extract (Black Cohosh) — A humectant botanical that protects the skin with antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and emollient properties. Cohosh can regulate sebum production and reduce hormone-related acne breakouts. Evidence suggests that black cohosh may also play a role in protecting and preventing cell death due to oxidative damage to the mitochondria.
Serenoa Serrulata Fruit Extract (Saw Palmetto) — A berry extract that contains phytosterols and fatty acids. It is a 5a-reductase inhibitor, anti-inflammatory, balances sebum, and reduces irritation in sensitized skin.
Glycyrrhiza Glabra Root Extract (Licorice) — Licorice is a cooling skin conditioner that calms irritation and redness. It is a natural extraction containing flavonoids that inhibit inflammation, lighten pigmentation, and counteract oxidative stress. Licorice also improves hydration, suppleness, and turgidity by preserving the skin’s hyaluronic acid content.
Salvia Officinalis Extract (Sage) — An antiseptic, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory botanical extract that can reduce pain sensation. Sage reduces bacteria and has antiviral and antifungal benefits.
